The AIRS program was founded by Maggie Milne Martens and VSB teacher Colleen Mieczaniec in 2015. It is managed by Celia Jong- District Arts Coordinator and Christine Giesbrecht- District Mentor Teacher at the Vancouver School Board, working in consultation with the AIRS advisory council. This model of consultation ensures best practices for creating sustainable, successful and meaningful artist-studio residencies for students and teachers.
