Advisory Council

  

The AIRS program was founded by Maggie Milne Martens  and VSB teacher Colleen Mieczaniec in 2015. It is now owned and managed by VSB in consultation with community partners.  The Advisory Council meets throughout the year to support the vision and direction of the AIRS program.  This model of consultation ensures best practices for creating sustainable, successful and meaningful artist-studio residencies for artists, students and teachers.

Land Acknowledgement

The Artist In Residence Studio program is honoured to be working together on the unceded, unsurrendered and traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm|Musqueam, Sḵwxwú7mesh|Squamish & səlilwətaɬ |Tsleil-Waututh people, where we learn, live and work. We humbly acknowledge that we are unlearning and relearning and with this acknowledgement comes the commitment to engage in ongoing acts of reconciliation.
